Description

The outbuilding at the rear of Number 24 is an early 19th-century structure that was formerly used as a dairy and cow-house. It features a timber frame with red and buff brick infill, as well as red brick and coursed rubble stone. The building has a plain-tile roof and consists of two storeys and a cellar, arranged in three bays. The side facing the garden of Number 24 has a brick ground floor with large-panel framing above, including two doors and a two-light casement window with a cambered lintel on the ground floor, and a door, a central weatherboarded section, and a one-light window on the first floor. On the right end, there are steps leading to a doorway for the cellar, a two-light part-leaded casement window, and rendered wattle and daub infill on the first floor and gable. The right-hand corner of the building is attached to Number 23. The left end features an extension made of brick and coursed rubble stone, with a double doorway and a window above on the gable end. The rear of the building, which faces the garden of Number 23, has a door and a small boarded window, along with a rubble stone plinth.

Inside, there is a brick vaulted cellar in part, with brick setlas, and a brick fireplace for a copper. The interior also includes chamfered beams, a partially cobbled floor, and a three-bay pegged tie-beam truss roof with pegged rafters. This outbuilding is included for its group value.
