Description

This is a late 18th-century building on Barrow Street, Much Wenlock. It is constructed of painted brick and stands two storeys high with an attic. The building features an original double-fronted bow window, which has been slightly elongated. It has a central wooden doorcase with panelled soffits, topped by a moulded wooden cornice with a small central pediment. Two early 19th-century three-light casement windows are positioned above the doorcase. There is another similar window in the gable. The roof is covered with old tiles. It is likely that earlier fabric is present at the rear of the building. Wrought-iron railings are also part of the building’s features. Nos. 24 to 29 Barrow Street form a group of buildings with architectural unity.
