Description
Sutton Spa is a spa building dating from the 18th to 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a stone slab roof. The spa consists of a small brick chamber set into the side of a slope, which is largely covered by a circular embankment. There are stone steps on either side of the entrance, which is simply designed with a lintel made from a stone roof slab and an iron rail gate. Inside, there is a stone basin against the rear wall. A well is accessible from a flat platform located above and behind the chamber. The mineral spring was popular locally during the 18th and 19th centuries and remained in use until 1939.
