Description

The former magazine, now a summer-house, dates from around 1806 and is located in the garden of Number 5 The Armoury on London Road in Shrewsbury. It is constructed of brick and features a Welsh slate roof. The building is single-storeyed with a single-room plan, which includes a blocked entrance in a gabled porch and inserted French doors on the side facing the garden. Inside, the structure has a brick arched ceiling. It is believed to have originally served as the magazine for the Shrewsbury armoury, which was designed by James Wyatt in 1806.
