Description
No. 193 Abbey Foregate is an early 18th-century house that was derelict at the time of the survey. It is built of brick and features a hipped plain tiled roof. The house has two storeys and originally had a four-window range with 12-pane sash windows that had flat-arched gauged brick heads, but these are now boarded over. The rear elevation has seven windows, most of which are blocked. There are two doors that have been inserted in former windows on the ground floor of the rear elevation, along with another inserted doorway to the left and an inserted window above it at an intermediate height. A string course runs along both elevations, and there is a truncated axial stack. To the west, there is a lower two-storey wing that is a later addition.
