Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres south of Middle Spoad Farmhouse, likely dates from the late 18th century. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a coursed limestone rubble plinth, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The structure consists of four framed bays, with square panels extending two levels up to the wall plate. There are two boarded doors on the north side and a loft door in the gable end facing west. Inside, the barn has tie-beam trusses supported by raking queen struts, as well as bay partitions that include high stone plinths, sole plates, and long tension braces. This building is included for its group value with the nearby farmhouse.
