Description
Garn Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed from coursed and squared limestone, with the back and sides rendered, likely intended to resemble ashlar on the front. It features a low-pitched slate roof that is hipped to the left. The building has two storeys, deep eaves, and includes a large external-end stack on the right, an integral brick end stack on the left, and an external lateral brick stack at the rear. The façade consists of three bays with 16-pane glazing bar sashes that have stone flat arches. There may have been some refenestration, indicated by straight joints to the right, or the reuse of an earlier structure. The central entrance has three semi-circular steps leading up to a six flush-panelled door, which is topped by a three-part rectangular overlight. The door features panelled reveals and soffit, with a pilastered surround that includes a moulded cornice and an open triangular pediment. To the left, there is probably a mid-to-late 19th-century one-storey hipped addition with a chamfered corner.
