Description
This is a pedestal tomb with enclosing railings located 11 metres northeast of the chancel of the Church of St Andrew in Hope Bowdler. It is made of ashlar and dates from the early 19th century. The tomb features a shallow pyramid lid with moulded edges and the base of a former finial. The sides have plain inset panels that display a very long inscription. It has a moulded plinth and commemorates William Cheney Hart, who died in 1819. The railed enclosure includes arrow-head standards and corner standards topped with urn finials.
