Description

This is a double-sided headstone located one metre south of the vestry of the Church of St Andrew in Hope Bowdler. Made of ashlar, it dates from the mid-18th century. The headstone features a rectangular slab set vertically with a rounded top and raised carved borders. Both faces are inscribed, commemorating Elizabeth, the wife of Thomas Preen, who died in 1741.
