Description
This memorial is located 10 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Andrew in Hope Bowdler. It is a double-sided headstone made of ashlar and dates from the early 18th century. The memorial features a rectangular slab set vertically with a moulded top and raised ornament on both sides. The east side displays a raised oval cartouche adorned with foliage and skulls below, commemorating Elizabeth Thomas, who died in 1727. The west side has a split inscribed panel that features a figurative female carving and draped ornamented borders, commemorating John Thomas, who died in 1776, and Edward Thomas, who died in 1786.
