Description
Ivy Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber frame construction, a stone rubble cross wing, and a brick extension at one end. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has ashlar parapet gables, while the cross wing is covered with corrugated sheet material. There is a stone end stack with a stepped brick upper shaft on the left side and a projecting brick gable-end stack on the right side. The building has a T-shaped plan, consisting of a main range and a cross wing.
The exterior is a single storey with an attic. The south front has a square-framed timber frame that is three panels high, with two- and three-light casement windows on either side of a central doorway that features a projecting porch canopy. There are two raking dormers with two-light casements. The cross wing gable on the left has dovecote ledges in the gable end and boarded openings below. The brick extension on the right has two ground-floor casement windows. On the left return side, garage doors have been inserted into the side wall, with a raking dormer above. The interior has not been inspected.
