Description

This is a chest tomb made of ashlar, located 4 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Andrew in Hope Bowdler. It dates from the early 19th century and features a flat lid with a moulded edge. The sides and ends are plain with inscribed panels, and it has fluted corner piers. The tomb is set on a moulded plinth that is inset below the panels. It commemorates Richard Wilding, who died in 1804, his wife Mary, who died in 1803, and their daughter Mary, who died in 1785.
