Description
This is a barn located approximately 10 meters north west of Llanhowell Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century with later alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a rubblestone plinth and has a plain tile roof. The barn has two levels and includes eight doorways on the ground floor, with the fourth doorway from the left accessed by external lateral stone steps. There are eaves hatches to the left and right of the center, along with a raking eaves dormer to the right of the left eaves hatch.
Inside, the framing is visible with square panels, three of which are concealed by metal sheeting in the three left bays. The roof has a double-purlin structure spanning six bays, supported by raking struts from the tie beams to the principal rafters. A continuous loft is accessible via a ladder-type staircase from a door with external stone steps. The barn is included for its group value.
