SHREWSBURY PRIDE HILL (South East side) Nos. 31, 32 AND 33

Row of 3 shops. Original development C17, present buildings have facades of c1900. Plastered with mock timbering over original timber-framing. Plain tiled roofs. 2 storeys with high gabled attics, each a single unit. Inserted shop fronts, those to Nos 30 & 31 of c1900, with moulded fascias over renewed windows. No.31 apparently a separate build, and with a different pattern of mock timber with herringbone struts and cusped quatrefoil panels. Full-height square oriel bay window with wood mullions and transoms and balustraded timbering. High gable with heavy barge-boards with finials and pendants. Nos 32 & 33 represent a single build or rebuild, with thin mock timbering with long raking braces and 16-pane sash windows with drop-ended hoodmoulds over. High gabled attics have 9-pane sash windows, and there is some lozenge decoration in the timbering of No.32. Fretted barge-boards with finials.
