Description
This barn, located approximately 70 metres east of Choulton Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring limestone rubble and a concrete plinth, and is partially covered with weather-boarding. The west side has 20th-century corrugated iron cladding, and the roof is also made of 20th-century corrugated iron. The barn consists of three framed bays with square panels. On the north front, there are three pitching openings and a boarded door positioned off-centre to the right. Inside, the barn has a double trenched-purlin roof supported by inclined strut trusses, along with framed bay-partitions that include long tension braces.
