Description
A pair of houses dating from around 1830, located on Chapel Street in Oswestry, with later additions and alterations. The houses are constructed of red brick with a slate roof, featuring axial ridge stacks on both the left and right sides. They have three main storeys, with the lower level functioning as a basement. A moulded wooden eaves cornice runs along the top. The front of the houses has three windows, with glazing bar sash windows throughout, except for a blind window at the top centre. Painted stone lintels and cills are present on all windows. A central entrance is marked by a wooden portico in the Roman Doric style, complete with metopes, triglyphs, and mutules, sheltering a pair of four-panel doors with rectangular barred overlights. A flight of four steps leads to the entrance, flanked by pointed railings and urn-capped standards, which extend along a low stone plinth to either side of the building.
