Description
The Savings Bank is a house that has been converted into a bank, dating from the early 19th century with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick on an ashlar plinth that extends around to form a basement storey at the rear. The building features a hipped slate roof with wide eaves and a ridge stack located on the right side.
It has two storeys and a basement at the rear, with a four-window front. The fourth bay on the right is slightly set back. The windows are glazing bar sashes with gauged heads, and those flanking the entrance are part of a late 19th-century gabled brick porch set within segmental-arched recesses. To the left, there is a late 19th-century single-bay addition that is set back and has been heightened in the late 20th century, featuring narrow round-arched windows.
