Description

A pair of houses dating from the early 19th century, located on East Green, Southwold. The buildings are constructed of red brick with a pantiled roof and two ridge stacks.

The exterior presents a symmetrical facade with one window to each house. A central plank door, situated beneath a segmental head, provides access to a passageway at the rear. Each house has a six-over-six unhorned sash window on either side of the entrance, each window framed by a gauged skewback arch. The doors to number 8 is a 19th-century plank door and the door to number 9 is a 20th-century replacement. The first floor features two six-over-six unhorned sashes, separated by a blind window. An eaves cornice with dentil moulding runs along the top of the facade. Two raking dormers are fitted with two-light casements. The interior was not inspected.
