Description
24 and 26 Church Street are two houses that are now part of a brewery casking plant. They were built in 1760 by Robert Burwood for himself. The houses are constructed of red brick and feature a pantile roof with rebuilt brick stacks at each end.
The exterior consists of two storeys and a dormer attic, with a three-bay front. The central bay has a shallow projection and is pedimented below the eaves line, featuring a glazed oculus within the pediment. There are paired panelled doors in the centre, flanked by one 8/8 sash window on each side, with the left window having horns. On the first floor, there are two 6/6 unhorned sash windows, all openings are set under gauged skewback arches. The building has a console eaves cornice and two raking dormers fitted with top-hung casements.
All interior walls and details have been removed.
