Description
This is a two-storey office building, likely originally a dwelling, situated in Shrewsbury. It probably incorporates a core from the 17th century, but the visible fabric largely dates to the early 20th century. The ground floor is brick, while the upper floor is timber-clad. The roof is covered in plain tiles, and the building features high gabled dormers.
The front has a two-window range. A central door is set within a four-centred archway and covered by a canopy supported by a wrought-iron bracket. To the right are paired wood mullioned and transomed windows with leaded lights, set into cambered brick surrounds. A wide shop window is on the left, also with cambered brick heads. The timber cladding above imitates a timber-frame structure, featuring small square panels and long raking arched braces. Two oriel windows with wood mullions and leaded lights are situated above the shop window and the mullioned window. The attic dormers have three-light mullioned windows. Gable end stacks are present.
