Description
Dogpole House is a house that is currently used as offices. It dates from the early 19th century but has a core that may be from the 17th century or earlier. The building is constructed of brick and has a plain tiled roof. The main elevation faces a passage leading to St Alkmund's Square and features two storeys with a two-window range. There is a central door set in an open pedimented case with a reeded architrave, flanked by two-pane sash windows that have flat-arched gauged brick heads. The upper windows are 16-pane sashes, also with flat-arched gauged brick heads. To the left, there is an overhanging shallow pitched roof, while the right side has a steeper pitch with a gabled dormer, which likely incorporates the original timber-framed building. The elevation facing Dogpole includes a two-pane sash window and a doorway. The building has gable and axial stacks.
