Description
Nos. 7 and 8 St. Alkmond's Square are a pair of houses built around 1800. They are constructed of brick with a roof that is not visible behind the parapet eaves. The buildings rise three storeys and feature a three-window range, with an additional narrow window above the left-hand doorway. Each doorway is adorned with Doric columns that support flat entablatures, and they are flanked by 12-pane sash windows with flat-arched gauged brick heads. The doorway to No. 7 has a six-panelled door, while the other door has been renewed and glazed. The upper windows are also 12-pane sashes, with a narrow 8-pane sash located above the doorway to No. 7, and six-pane sashes on the second storey. The right-hand corner of the building is curved at the angle with a passage, and the first floor is corbelled out. The houses feature gable and axial stacks.
