Description
No. 3 St Alkmond's Square is a house that dates largely from the early 16th century but was refronted in the later 18th century. It features a timber-framed structure with a brick facade that is now painted, and it has a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys with an attic and a single-window range. To the left, there is a round-arched recess for the doorway, and to the right, there are 20-pane sash windows on each floor. The gable to the right is high and wide, featuring a 9-pane sash window and barge-boards with a pendant finial supported by moulded brackets. The timber-framing is exposed in the gable wall, showcasing large square panels with arched bracing. It is likely that this house was originally built as part of a single structure with No. 2 St Alkmond's Square.
