Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres south of Brook House, dates from the late 17th century. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a rubblestone and brick plinth, topped with a plain tile roof. The structure consists of two framed bays with square panels extending from the sole-plate to the wall-plate.
On the south-west front, there is a pair of large two-leaf boarded doors positioned off-centre to the right, along with another two-leaf boarded door off-centre to the left. A metal-framed window has been inserted to the right of the doors. Inside, the barn has a central tie-beam truss supported by raking struts, and a collar and tie-beam end truss with queen struts and v-struts. It also features single purlins with wind braces and inserted floors at each end. The barn is prominently situated beside Brook House.
