Description
This is a barn with attached garages located to the southwest of Brook House. It dates from the 17th century, with additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is built of coursed rubble and rock-faced ashlar, featuring timber-framing and weather boarding, topped with a stone slate roof.
The south front has an off-centre entrance on the east side, which includes double plank doors and three breathers to the left. To the right, there is a plank stable door and, above to the left, a loft door. The east gable wall, constructed in the 19th century, is made of rock-faced ashlar and has a single window along with a plank loft door above. The rear features a single plank stable door and a lean-to garage from the 20th century, which has double garage doors on the east side.
On the west gable wall, exposed timber posts are visible at the corners, along with weather boarding. Inside, there is a walled-off single bay store room to the east, and three pairs of posts with braces support roof trusses above, which include queen post struts. There is also a similar roof truss located to the east.
