Description
This barn, located about 20 yards south of Brook House, is likely from the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame with brick infill, covered by weatherboards and a tiled roof. The barn consists of three structural bays that are aligned roughly north to south. The east elevation has full-height ledged doors on the right-hand bay, with a ledged door in the center and another in the left bay. There is a lean-to rubble extension on the left gable, which includes a louvred segmentally-headed opening and a door. The frame of the barn has three square panels that extend from the plinth to the wall-plate. Inside, there are raking struts connecting the ties to the principals. Note that Brook House itself is not included in this listing.
