Description

This section of town wall dates from around 1226 and was begun for King Henry III. Constructed of red sandstone, the walling is in coursed and squared blocks, and stands approximately 3 metres high. It features two buttresses to the west with chamfered plinths and moulded weatherings, and the remains of a third buttress. The wall continues eastwards to form the base of the north wall of Severn House.
