Willey Hall Broseley Drive Bridge Under B4376

Willey Hall Broseley Drive Bridge, built around 1830, is an estate bridge featuring a girder dated 1828. It is constructed from buff-coloured brick with stone coping and cast-iron girders. The bridge has a single span over a drive, supported by a series of cast-iron girders placed side by side within a brick structure; one of the girders has the date 1828 cast on its underside. The drive runs in a cutting beneath the B4376 road, with the bridge's abutments curving along the drive and ending in plain piers topped with stone caps. The abutments are extended by what appear to be later 19th-century brick revetments with brick coping, which curve down to small terminal piers also capped with stone. This bridge carries the B4376 road over the drive leading from Broseley Lodge to Willey Hall, which was constructed between 1812 and 1815 according to designs by Lewis William Wyatt. The bridge is first documented on the 1838 Tithe Map.
