Description

Willey Furnace Cottages, located in Broseley, date back to around 1760 and have undergone later alterations. Originally, these buildings served as a warehouse for John Wilkinson's New Willey Ironworks, which operated from 1757 to 1808. The cottages are constructed of red brick and feature two storeys with a basement. Each elevation has a gabled roof, and the windows have segmental heads. The ground storey windows include keyblocks and generally retain small-paned iron casements, although some windows have been blocked. The doorways are plain and also have segmental heads. As of 1974, No. 17 was unoccupied and required repair and improvement.
