Description

This is a footbridge from the early 19th century, located between Brougham Hall and the Chapel of St Wilfred. It is constructed of coursed red sandstone rubble and features a single-span segmental arch with recessed voussoirs. The bridge has a solid parapet with modillioned shapes. At the time of the survey, it was disused and in a derelict state, but repairs were underway. The bridge was historically used by Lord Brougham for direct access from his house to the church. It is listed for its group value with Brougham Hall.
