Description

The chest tomb of Richard Dawes is located 8 meters south of the church in St Michael's Churchyard in Sibdon Carwood. This Grade II listed tomb is made of sandstone and commemorates Richard Dawes, who died in 1857. It features a pyramidal moulded slab supported by fluted pilasters and a chamfered plinth, along with moulded cartouches. The inscription includes a note stating that he was "late of New House in this parish where he succeeded his father the late Wm. Dawes." This tomb is identical to the adjacent tomb.
