Description

There are two chest tombs located immediately north of the Dawkins Mausoleum at St Mary's Church in Chipping Norton. These tombs date from the late 18th century and are made of ashlar stone with heavy moulded cornices. The southern tomb is believed to be for Matthew Venables, who died around 1787. This tomb is partly built into the Dawkins Mausoleum, which extends from the northwest end of St Mary's Church.
