Description

This is a house located at 51 Distons Lane in Chipping Norton, originally built in the 17th century and enlarged in the 19th century. The structure features rubble walls and oak lintels above the openings. It has a slated roof with a red brick chimney. Originally, the house was 1½ storeys high with a single room plan, accessed from the east through a door leading into a lobby next to the fireplace on the north gable wall. In the 19th century, it was extended to 2½ storeys, and the entrance was moved to the center of the east elevation, with the interior being partitioned. The east elevation has two windows with two-light timber casements, although the lower right-hand window is blocked. The south elevation features one window similar to the others in the gable, and below it, there is a blocked triangular vent visible in the original gable. A prominent stone boundary wall is located to the south of the property.
