Description

The Kerby family tombs, located to the northeast of St Mary's Church in Chipping Norton, date back to 1776, as indicated by the ironwork pier. The site features three monuments: two chest tombs that have elaborately carved corner balusters, with sides adorned with garlands and putti, and hump-backed tops. Additionally, there is an inscribed stone slab. The tombs are enclosed by fine wrought iron railings topped with vase finials, which have faces on the corners. The openwork piers display the initials 'EK' to the south, 'JK' to the north, 'CK' to the east, and the date 1776 to the west.
