Description

11, 12, and 13 King Street are shops and dwellings with an 18th-century front that conceals an earlier core. The building features stucco over a timber frame and has a 20th-century plain tile roof, which has been raised in the front pitch during the 18th century, with a central brick ridge stack. The structure has a two-unit plan and stands three stories tall with a four-window range. The windows are 6/6 sashes set in beaded cases, with a cast-iron window-box guard on the far left and 3/6 sashes above.

The late 18th-century shopfront on the left includes a central 19th-century half-glazed two-panel door with an ornamental overlight, glazing bars, and reeded pilasters. The shopfront on the right is from the 20th century. The right return facing Fish Street features a deep jetty on the first floor, supported by chamfered brackets. A two-storey wing at the rear continues the jetty and has 20th-century lights and casements, along with a roughcast 19th-century stack. The end bay displays massive framing with a battened main post that has a moulded capital and a chamfered dragon beam. The rear gable also continues the jetty and includes a late 19th-century 2/2 sash window on the first floor and a casement in the gable. A sill beam on a brick plinth is interrupted by a 19th-century stable door, flanked by 20th-century lights, with an 18th-century light and sliding sash above. The rendered gable of the plain tiled wing for No. 11 is visible at the rear.
