Description
No. 45 Bull Ring is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber-frame and plaster construction with a plain tile roof and twin gables, along with a brick lateral stack. The building stands four storeys tall and has a two-window range. The 20th-century mullion and transom oriels have leaded lights and are set in box framing. The second storey juts out on enriched consoles and has 20th-century leaded light casements set in studding. The third floor also juts out on three enriched consoles and includes two 20th-century casements. The twin gables are adorned with cusped quarter bracing. The 19th-century shopfront features a central 20th-century door situated between reeded pilasters, flanked by plate glass windows with moulded mullions and leaded clerestories, along with a cast-iron window box guard above. Inside, there are mutilated plasterwork ceilings and panelling, cornices, stop-chamfered ceiling beams, and a winder-stair with splat balusters leading to the attic.
