Description
14 and 15 King Street are shops and dwellings with an 18th-century front that conceals an earlier core. The building features a stucco finish over a timber frame and has a plain tile roof. It stands three stories tall with a cellar and has a two-window range. On the left, there is a 3/3 sash window, and on the right, an 8-pane light, with two 6/6 casements above, all set in moulded cases. The eaves are adorned with wood modillion. The left side has a late 19th-century shopfront with a half-glazed door and canted windows, flanked by fluted pilasters. The right side features another late 19th-century shopfront with a half-glazed door on the left, mirror panels, a tiled stallboard, and a deep fascia board with an ornate console. Inside, the late medieval timber frame is exposed throughout, and there is a chamfered stone fireplace on the ground and first floors, along with a tiled panel in the front of the ground floor.
