Description
No. 5 King Street is a shop and dwelling built in the early 19th century. The exterior features stucco applied to sandstone, painted brick, and a Welsh slate roof, with rendered stack bases at the rear. The building has four storeys and a three-window range, although one window is blocked. It has 6/6 sash windows beneath stucco lintels, along with 3/6 sash windows and two blocked openings under moulded wooden eaves. The front includes an open arcade supported by grooved stucco columns and arches, which houses an early 20th-century shopfront. The left side of the building has a variety of sash windows: two 2/2, one 6/6, and another 2/2, all in a broad beaded case under a stucco lintel. There are also 6/6 and 3/6 sashes present, along with a stone-coped gable and a returned arcade. The rear elevation features three roof pitches and a hipped gable.
