Description

Pitter Patter and its premises is a former shop and dwelling located in Ludlow, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of stucco and features a hipped gable roof with brick lateral stacks at the rear. It stands three storeys tall, with an attic and cellar, and has a two-window range. The first and second floors have early 20th century plain wooden sash windows set in lined reveals. The third floor showcases two semi-circular lights with central glazing bars, framed by moulded architraves.

The late 19th century shopfront is notable, featuring a recessed half-glazed door on the right within a panelled case, and a 20th century plate-glass window to the left. This is all topped with a moulded fascia board and cornice, supported by fluted and enriched consoles on plain pilasters. The right side of the building has a late 19th century shop window with glazing bars and a 20th century plate-glass insert in an earlier case, along with a glazed panelled door in a moulded doorcase with an entablature. To the right of this door is an 8/8 sash window under a cambered head, while the first and second floors contain 6/6 sashes in moulded cases, all beneath gauged brick segmental arches. The eaves are adorned with brick modillions.

On the rear elevation, there are 6/6 sash windows in moulded cases under gauged brick flat arches on the first and second floors, along with a semi-circular light featuring glazing bars and a moulded architrave, set beneath a gauged brick semi-circular arch. The building also has brick modillioned eaves.
