Description

This is a late 19th-century shop, possibly built as a shop from the outset. It is constructed of painted brick with a Welsh slate roof. The building is three storeys high with an attic. It has a single-window front, with a late 20th-century shop front inserted. Above the shop front are four-pane sash windows with flat-arched stucco surrounds. A wide canted bay window is on the first floor, supported by a modillion string course below, with paired sash windows and flat-arched stucco surrounds. Two gabled dormers are in the roof, featuring fretted bargeboards. A moulded terracotta eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. Stuccoed angle quoins define the corners. A rear wing extends to Drayton Passage and may incorporate an earlier structure.
