Description
3 The Square is a shop that may have been purpose-built in the early 19th century. It features lined-out stucco over brick and has a Welsh slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall with an attic and has a four-window range. The shop front, added in the late 20th century, is designed in a traditional style. The first floor has mullioned and transomed windows with shouldered architraves. There is a string course with an interlace frieze, and the second floor windows have plain stressed architraves along with a string course. A cornice is located below the attic storey, which is adorned with moulded pilasters at the corners and on either side of the two-light casement windows, supporting a heavy projecting modillion eaves cornice. The building has gable end stacks.
