Description

This is a headstone commemorating Thomas Giles, located 10 metres south of the Church of St John the Baptist. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of ashlar stone. The headstone features a rectangular slab set vertically with two inscribed panels. At the top, there is a central decoration that includes a motif of clasped hands, and the top is shaped with double ogee and wave moulding. It commemorates Thomas Giles, who died in 1739, and his wife, who died in 1728.
