Description

This headstone, located 25 metres south of the south chapel of the Church of St. Mary, dates from the 18th century. It is made of stone and commemorates Christopher Giles, a gentleman who died in 1755. The headstone stands four feet high and features intricate carvings, including two skulls separated by crossed bones and an hourglass, with a spade and pick crossed on either side of the main design.
