Description
This barn, located approximately 15 metres to the north-east of Llantroft Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. It features a timber frame, with weatherboarding on the north side and corrugated iron cladding on the south. The barn has a coursed limestone rubble plinth and end walls, with the southern plinth rebuilt in concrete. It has a slate roof and consists of three framed bays aligned east to west. The south side has a two-leaf boarded door, while the north side has a pair of large boarded waggon doors. Inside, there are tie-beam trusses with raking queen struts, framed bay divisions with low walls, sole plates, central posts, and long tension braces. The barn is included in the group value context with Llantroft Farmhouse.
