Description

This barn is located approximately 50 metres south of Llantop. It likely dates from the early 18th century, with later alterations made since. The barn is timber-framed with a weatherboard exterior, set upon a rubble stone plinth, and has a corrugated iron roof. A wide doorway is located in the second bay from the west on the south side, featuring double doors. Eaves hatches are positioned on either side of the doorway. Inside, the timber framing is visible, featuring both a tall and a short rectangular panel from the cill to the wall-plate. The barn contains a double-purlin roof in four bays, incorporating raking struts from tie beams to principal rafters, along with collar and tie beam end trusses and jowled wall posts. A stone threshing floor is found in the second bay from the west.
