Description

The Peake memorial, located immediately to the east of the Church of St Mary in Hopton Castle, is a churchyard memorial dating from around 1686. It is made of cast iron and features a recumbent rectangular-shaped slab with slightly raised sides. The memorial bears the inscription: "HERE LIETH THE / BODY OF RICHARD / PEAKE BEING MIN / ISTER OF THIS PL / ACE 33 YEARES / WHO DECEACED/ THE 29TH DAY OF / JULY ANO1686."
