2/107 Two Peake headstones approximately 9 m south of Chancel of Church of St Deinst

GV II

Two headstones. Mid-C18. Sandstone. Winged cherub with elaborate foliated scrolled surround to cartouche, convex inscription panels. Left headstone commemorates Mary, wife of John Peake, died 1770, and to right John Peake, died 1756. Fine examples of local craftsmanship in a provincial rococo mode in a churchyard with a large number of excellent memorials.
