Description

ELLESMERE RURAL C.P. COLEMERE SJ 43 SW 9/103 The Hollies - GV II Cottage. Mid-C17 with minor later alterations. Timber framed with painted brick infill; straw thatch roof. 2-cell central baffle-entry plan. 2 storeys. Framing: square and rectangular panels, 3 from cill to wall-plate with short straight braces from wall posts to wall-plate and tie beams. Queen-strut end trusses with V-struts from collars, renewed above and including tie beam to left gable end. C19 casements to far left and right of roughly central boarded door with another directly below eaves to right of centre. Axial red brick ridge stack with moulded capping. C19 painted brick lean-to to rear. Interior. Chamfered ceiling beams to ground-floor rooms.
