Description
Willowbank is a cottage built in the late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a plinth, topped by a slate roof. The cottage has a two-cell plan and is one storey high with a gable-lit attic.
The framing consists of square and rectangular panels, with two panels extending from the cill to the wall-plate. It has queen-strut end trusses and projecting single-purlin ends. The front has a roughly central 20th-century boarded door, flanked by small 19th-century casement windows on either side. There is an internal end stack on the right side. To the left, there is an early 19th-century single-storey addition that is also timber framed, featuring wide double doors on the left and a latticed casement window to the right. On the right side, there is a late 19th-century brick lean-to.
