Description

Three Ways is a cottage dating from the mid-17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed with painted brick infill, standing on a rendered brick plinth. The roof is thatched. The cottage originally comprised two rooms. It is a single storey with an attic. The timber framing is arranged in rectangular panels, two from the cill to the wall-plate, with short straight braces extending from the wall posts to the wall-plate. The end trusses feature collar and tie beams with long straight tension braces, projecting single-purlin ends, and V-struts from the collars. There are 20th-century casement windows to the left and right of a boarded door located to the left of the centre. A timber-framed gabled eaves dormer is centrally positioned. A prominent integral red brick end stack is located to the left, with a toothed band at the top of the base. A brick lean-to has been added to the left gable end, painted black and white to imitate timber framing. A 20th-century brick lean-to is attached to the rear on the right.
